Chelsea Hager is a senior advisor at Insight Strategic Partners with experience working with local, state, and federal governments. At Insight, Chelsea represents non-profits, corporations, trade associations, health care facilities, municipalities, and foundations. Her portfolio covers many policy areas including human services, housing, health care, technology, and firearm safety.
Prior to joining Insight, Chelsea worked for Gordon Thomas Honeywell Governmental Affairs, a Tacoma-based governmental affairs firm. At GTHGA, Chelsea advocated for a geographically and politically diverse group of local governments to the Washington State Legislature. In doing so, she built a reputation as an effective and professional bipartisan advocate and developed a broad range of policy expertise, including in public safety, infrastructure, and housing.
Chelsea began her career as an intern and later staff member for U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer while attending the University of Washington Tacoma. She received a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with minors in Human Rights and Criminal Justice.
After leaving Rep. Kilmer’s Office, Chelsea attended the University of Washington School of Law with a focus on public policy. She was deeply involved in UW Law’s Legislative Advocacy Clinic, working with legislators to draft and advance criminal justice legislation to prevent wrongful convictions.
Chelsea began her Olympia-based work in the Office of the Attorney General as an extern in the Government Compliance & Enforcement Division. She focused on issues such as regulatory compliance and public disclosure law violations.
A proud native of the south Puget Sound, Chelsea has served for several years as a Board Member for the Center for Dialog and Resolution, an independent non-profit offering mediation and facilitation services in Tacoma, Washington.
